In March of 2007 a storm swell devastated the KZN North Coast. At its peak, the storm produced swells of ~8.5 m, caused significant coastal erosion and unprecedented damage to coastal property. The town of Ballito, north of Durban, presented all these aspects and was the worst-hit area. One of the most popular features of the area is the Tidal Pool at Thompson's Bay which was virtually completely destroyed by the storm. Mono Block, in conjunction with loacal contractor Siyavusa, were tasked to restore the Tidal Pool to its former glory.
